My Wife Says, "Sh*t H*ppens"

I am beta testing the Surfline.com surf forecasting site and so bang around the DelMarVa, Puerto Rico and PNW areas. Then I see the forecast for PR the next 5 days: 3-6' solid N swell with lots of plus sets, warm water and sunny warm skies. OMG! Why is this soul off to the frigid, rainy, 20'+ PNW??? What a KOOK!!! My wife is SO right, "Sh*t H*ppens."

Flat Out of Luck

Isn't that the expression?

Nasty Forecast: Coastal Flood Advisory

Expires 3:00 PM PST on November 06, 2006
Statement as of 7:03 AM PST on November 06, 2006

... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 11 am this morning to
3 PM PST this afternoon for tidal overflow...
... High surf advisory remains in effect from 10 am to 8 PM PST
Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a coastal
flood advisory... which is in effect from 11 am this morning to
3 PM PST this afternoon. A high surf advisory remains in effect
from 10 am to 8 PM PST Tuesday.

Minor tidal overflow can be expected today around the high tide
early this afternoon along low lying areas of the north Oregon
coast. High astronomical tides combined with High River levels
from recent heavy rains will cause backup of water draining into
bays and esturaries. The high tide at Astoria of 10.3 feet will
occur at 103 PM this afternoon.

High surf conditions will occur on Tuesday as large swell driven
by a Pacific storm system reaches the north Oregon coast. Seas
between 20 and 25 feet will cause hazards along the beaches and
surf zones. It is extremely dangerous to go near the water during
high surf conditions. People can be caught off guard as waves
suddenly sweep across low lying areas or injured by debris thrown
about by the waves.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
