CRNW Forecast of 2016-0526, Thu

Buoyweather is having some technical issues this morning.... meanwhile, the foremost forecasting site's forecast that cam in late last night is an eye-popper. Why oh why did I eat that second burrito?? Wax those boards for the Outer Wash, lol!!!

P.S. To answer Tim's question about Northside Wash, usually with a larger swell and a good southerly component.

Buoyweather table added in this evening (see directly below):

Effective Wednesday evening

SHORT TERM FORECAST (through SATURDAY, May 28th)
Highlights: Fun size Southern hemi swell.

The current SSW swell lingers into Thursday as a fresh pulse of South swell (190-175) builds in and peaks Friday. Look for waves mainly in the waist-head high zone. Standouts will be running overhead on sets, especially Friday. Size is gradually trending down on Saturday, but still plenty of fun waves.

Wind/Weather: Variable offshore flow is due the next few mornings while afternoons see a moderate to locally stronger onshore flow develop. Some areas may see winds back down before dark. Most of the region will see partly cloudy skies each day. Scattered showers/thunderstorms are possible and keep in mind that passing or nearby showers and thunderstorms can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions.

EXTENDED FORECAST (SUNDAY, May 29th, and beyond)
Highlights: Large to XL run of SSW swell closes out May and kicks off June.

South Pacific Swell: Old S swell is fading out Sunday but there is a much larger run of Southern Hemi swell slated to close out the month/kick off June.

This quite massive storm just recently developed over the South Pacific - setting up a good fetch of 40-50kt+ winds aimed right at the Americas. Therefore, expect building SW swell (220-200) for Costa Rica Sunday/Monday with Monday getting overhead+ sets by the afternoon. This swell tops out Tues/Wed as many spots see overhead+ surf, with good breaks in the double-triple overhead range. Select magnets are running 3-4+ times overhead (15-20' faces). Size is gradually coming down the back half of next week.

Nothing major lining up on longer range charts right now, so it looks like small surf for the region for at least a few days following the above swell. When something better pops up we'll let you know.

The swell tracker shows the swell hitting Mon/Tue/Wed, the heavy yellow and blue line plots. The yellow swell will provide waves into Friday.
