PRNW Forecast and Report of Wed, 2016-0127a

Trip is winding down. Two of my usual haunts were not working this morning (6:30-7a), so believe it or not, I ended up at Maria's Beach again. Caught two waves, one sectioned/closed out on me and the other was a small 4 footer inside which ended up being a nice ride, and placed me about 30 yds from the beach, so I paddled in. Kind of frustrating being out with 75 of your best friends.

Tomorrow and Friday look promising for me... hoping my PdP lines up okay and the swell angle and size should work. Going to the World Series of PR this evening, game 5 with the series tied at 2-2 vs. Santurce.

PRNW Forecast and Report of Tue, 2016-0126a

For one reason or another I have not surfed the past several days... waves too big, wrong angles, too crowded and my sleeping difficulties with waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning and not getting back to sleep until 5a or so. Today was another example of that with likely nice surf at PdP but being totally out of sorts. If the wind stays down I may make a run to check and see.

PRNW Forecast and Report of Thu, 2016-0121a

Slept in a bit having the premonition that the surf would be a bit large or out-of-control for me today. Such it was. Checked out my spots... PdP, Pepe's Paradise and TdlR. Watched from Paradise of a half hour while sipping my coffee from the local panaderia.

About 6 or so people out at TdlR, nobody at Paradise. Looked like some of the people in the water were knew to the area and obviously had not looked carefully at the put-in, paddleout, and come-in spots, nor any idea of contingencies. The surf wasn't breaking super hard and may have been doable for me, only because it was shorter period of 11-12 secs. A longer period would have dealt me a death blow for sure. Better safe than sorry for me.  There was also a ton of gunk floating around after the high tide, including some coconut tree parts and other logs... not exactly a safe way to paddle in!

The next couple of days look more promising for me... or maybe, Sat/Sun.
