PRNW Forecast & Report of Fri, 2016-0108a

Many folks were calling yesterday's swell 8 to 12 ft, some even mentioned TdlR as having 15 ft. bombs. Bigger, stronger swell than expected. Lots of people out that should not have; many others knowing their limits (like me!). 25 people out at TdlR yesterday (bummer alert: 6 yrs ago that would have been 6 to 8 people).

Today was my first paddleout, at PdP.  Set waves were running 5 to 7 ft plus. Tough paddle out from all the lesser waves breaking on the inside reef. Eventually I made it out and eventually I caught my one wave of the day, a right. Worked out a lot of kinks in the body! If the wind remains relatively slack and the swell subsides a little, I might try another session later today.
