PRNW Forecast of 2016-0101a

Swell arrives on afternoon of Day 1 or on Day 2. This one will definitely wrap around... to PDP or TDLR? Swells are beginning to trend NE to NW, but better than so several week trade wind swells.

EXTENDED SURF FORECAST (WEDNESDAY 1/4 AND BEYOND):

Easing trade windswell is expected on Wednesday into Thursday and Friday as a weaker pressure pattern develops over the Atlantic. A small mix of trade windswell and northerly background swell looks to linger though the end of the week and into the weekend. Small to fun size surf will linger for the N coast through the end of the week. The NW coast however will see small leftovers Wednesday and minimal surf for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

We're watching for the development of a front moving off the east coast of the US into the western Atlantic this weekend. This look to send a pulse of northerly swell to the region for the weekend moving into next week, mixing in with continued small trade windswell. However we're still seeing some disagreement in the models on the timing and strength of the front. Stay tuned as we continue to monitor swell potential for the region from this system.
